Master Woodcut Printmaking with Tom Huck

Internationally renowned artist Tom Hück will be teaching a one day woodcut printmaking workshop. The workshop will cover traditional woodcutting techniques including tool usage, printing techniques, block design and set up, all filtered through Tom Hück’s unique approach to imagery and carving. Sketchbook practices and art historical precedent will also be covered. Each participant will produce a small woodblock print during the workshop. Participants must bring their own tools. All levels of experience are welcome.

About Tom Hück
Tom Huck, a.k.a. Hück or Tom Hück (born 1971), is an American artist best known for his large-scale satirical imagery that lampoons contemporary rural Midwestern culture.
Aside from his prints, Hück has designed logos, posters, and apparel for musicians and organizations, such as album covers, posters, t-shirts, and ephemera. In 2002 he designed the cover of The Roots' album Phrenology, and created many designs for the legendary band Motörhead.
Hück's woodcut prints are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, The National Gallery of Art, The Library of Congress, The Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University; Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Art Institute of Chicago, Lambert International Airport,Saint Louis Art Museum, Princeton Art Museum, and Laumeier Sculpture Park among many others.
